Wood looking to turn around rough start to season Jon Wood is optimistic his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team can change its luck this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Wood was caught up in a crash in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway and has a best finish of only 27th in the opening pair of races.
The Wood Brothers Racing team spent the off-week refocusing on details in an effort to improve to get a better finish in Friday night's American Commercial Lines 200 at Atlanta.
“We’ve got such a great group of guys this year that have worked hard and feel that we tested here successfully," Wood said. "I’m confident that this is the race that will turn our luck around, and we’ll finish up front.”
Crew chief John Monsam was pleased with the truck during testing at the Atlanta and says the team was able to go run wide-open from the first lap.
“The race is at night, which means the track will have a lot of grip. If you have a good balance in the setup, then you can take advantage of running full throttle. If not and you have to lift, you’ll get beat, no doubt," he said.
Go Jon! Let's git r dun in Hotlanta.
